Canon Abilities/Powers: Double boom because fuck that noise.
Appearance: 5’5” tall, blond hair, tanned skin, whiskered cheeks, blue eyes, often wears orange and black (but in AUverse mixes in reds and browns into his wardrobe as well, often keeping in dress code for Chuunin but not conforming at the same time), keeps his headband on his forehead, has a sheathe for his bow staff mounted on his back, carries weapons pouch on his right leg.
Personality: Having grown up with a reputable family instead of being the village pariah due to being the Jinchuuriki, Naruto had quite a bit of a different childhood and therefore a different upbringing. Some of the key things that have changed are his methods of gaining attention, his outlook on the village in general, and his respect for his elders.
Not to say that some things about him AREN’T the same, but some of the changes are significant.
With the attention and respect of his teachers, peers, and the populace around him, Naruto
grew into a naturally happy and outgoing child. He naturally tries to make friends wherever he goes, showing sympathy and empathy for peoples’ bad situations and always willing to have fun with the people around him.
Some things never changed, however. Nothing was fun for Naruto growing up like pulling a good prank on someone, whether it was the invention of his perverse Oiroke no Jutsu or simple plays on words that resulted in all-around discomfort until he revealed just what he meant by his words. Which, sometimes, were worse than the original implications. He’d often go off and do other things when he was younger on the occasions that class just wasn’t interesting, but most of the time he stayed and tried his best to apply himself – which was easier when it felt like everyone was on his side.
None would ever say that Naruto wasn’t competitive even with his changed life. Though he was (mostly) respectful towards his elders, he also hated to lose so much that, whenever he did experience loss, he would train himself to improve in his weaker areas almost endlessly. Even when the outcome was obviously not in his favour, he never gave up on the possibility of victory and always pushed himself to the end, whether it was a written test, a practice spar, or even simple ‘capture the cat’ missions. Most admired this dedication in Naruto, and even if there were those who didn’t Naruto didn’t care – he’d just prove how great he was to them too! In all honesty, Naruto believes to this day that anything can be accomplished with enough effort and dedication, and it is a motto he lives by every breathing moment of his life.
If he experienced any problems at all, it was usually due to being placed on a pedestal as being the son of both the Yondaime Hokage, Minato Namikaze, and the son of the leader of Uzushiogakure, Kushina Uzumaki. Naruto always tried to overcome that difference by being as personable as possible to everyone else, even to the point of being the class clown at points. Even so, he couldn’t help feeling the occasional loneliness that came with being linked to two of the most prominent people in Konoha’s history.
Outwardly, however, Naruto never let it show – he was always too focused on making sure the people around him were smiling, happy, and safe. The people of the village matter to him more than any others in the whole world, tying Naruto to Konoha from the bottom of his heart and driving him to forevermore protect the village in his own way. His drive points him to the path both his father and his family friend Obito took – the path to becoming Hokage. His eyes are set on the spot of Rokudaime, and he will get there by any means he deems necessary... Provided that it doesn’t contradict his goal of protecting everyone in the village.
Strengths and Weaknesses:
+Long-Lasting: Naruto can outlast many opponents both in terms of physical prowess and in terms of chakra usage.
+Maverick: Naruto is incredibly creative and tends to think of plans on the fly depending on the situation around him – usually coming up with plans that most people wouldn’t even dream of conceiving. This makes him unpredictable and adaptable and combat-savvy, especially when working in conjunction with his teammates.
+ -Extrovert: Naruto loves talking to people and often wants to hang out with someone almost all the time, whether it’s during a mission or simply relaxing around the village. Although there are occasions when he wants to be alone, more often than not his craving for attention wins out and he often tries to force himself to be the center of attention whenever he can.
+-Optimistic: Naruto is forever an optimist, always seeking to bring out the best of every situation around him and to work towards that he thinks are the best outcomes possible. This attitude can get grating on some people, but it isn’t something Naruto would ever change, for better or for worse (unless, of course, extreme circumstances call for a change in attitude – and even then it’s only brief).
-Competitive: Naruto is competitive to a fault. Although he sometimes can take loss gracefully, more often than not wanting acknowledgement as one of the best or at least equal to those he looks up to more than anyone else. This can result in high tensions with some of the people he works with.
-Prankster: Going hand in hand with his maverick traits, Naruto also likes to pull pranks on people either for the sake of getting a negative reaction from them or for the sake of making them laugh. Either way, Naruto is happy so long as he gets a reaction at all, often spoiling whatever cover he has with pleased laughter the moment a prank is successful.
-Ramen Addict: Enough said.
-Verbal Tick Enthusiast: Inherited from his mother and modified for his own purposes. Again, enough said dattebayo.
Sunshine Abilities/Powers: From day one Naruto’s abilities have changed from those appearing in canon. Though some remain the same, the differences are so great that everything is going to be listed below;
Massive Chakra Pool: Birthed from a mother of the Uzumaki clan who also held the Kyuubi within her body at the time, Naruto has an unusually large reserve of chakra that provide him with inherent longevity and stamina, causing his natural aging to slow and his body to heal slightly more quickly than an average person from injury and illness.
Diligent Chakra Control: Having been taught it by his parents from his early academy days, Naruto now wastes very little chakra when utilizing his techniques and can extend the use of his chakra pool to make him seem almost tireless in battle or training.
Incredible Stamina: As explained in the two abilities above, Naruto has an incredible amount of physical stamina and a chakra pool to match. As such, he doesn’t tire for long periods of time (provided that he eats enough food to keep fuelling him) and tends to outlast most in training, missions, and battles.
Nature Manipulation – Wind Style: Naruto’s wind nature was found much earlier under the tutelage of his sensei Obito and his father, providing him with more time to learn wind-based techniques meant for piercing even the toughest materials with his sharpened weapons and certain techniques.
Rasengan and Wind Style: Rasenshuriken: Upon gaining the rank of Genin, Naruto learned the signature technique of both his father and of the Toad Sage Jiraiya, that being the Rasengan. It took Naruto four weeks to learn the technique in his entirety through a combination of his efforts and talent, and over the course of three years he properly developed his wind manipulation to create a new piercing chakra in the cloak of a fuuma shuriken with Rasengan’s compressed swirling energy trapped in its center. Because he has had a much longer period of time to create this technique, Naruto can effectively use it by himself without any damage done to his person as a result of the usage of this technique (though in the development stages he did end up landing himself in the hospital a few times).
Shadow Clone Technique (Kage Bunshin no Jutsu): It took six months of begging starting when he was twelve to get Obito to teach him this technique, as it is normally a technique reserved for those ranked Jonin or above. It was a difficult technique to resist, having seen it in action some time before.
Once he had, he combined it with his own creation of a technique – Oiroke no Jutsu, or Sexy Technique – in order to create the Harem Technique, a jutsu justified as a distraction for particular foes (though more often than not it gets used as a prank).
Sexy Technique (Oiroke no Jutsu): A specialized genjutsu where Naruto changes his physical appearance to that of a sexualized (and typically naked) blond version of himself. It can also be used to change form into anyone else, but this is different than a typical transformation in that Naruto changes his body physically using his chakra (whereas most genjutsu is a simple illusion and can be dispelled much more easily). It is the first jutsu Naruto has ever properly learned, and one of his own creation – something his parents are both proud of and appalled over. Seriously, where did he learn about naked girls at such a young age!?
Basic Techniques: Naruto knows and has mastered all of the academy’s basic ninjutsu and genjutsu, including the Transformation Technique (Henge no Jutsu), Substitution Technique (Kawarimi no Jutsu), and basic styles of chakra control.
Physical Combat (Taijutsu): Naruto’s taijutsu is classified as above average, having to train with it in combination with many of his ninjutsu and genjutsu techniques in order to effectively fight a large variety of opponents.
Weapons Training (Shurikenjutsu): Naruto’s Shurikenjutsu is excellent, as he has been training in it with particular focus in order to try and match his father’s skill with his specialized shuriken. It is with this training that Naruto hopes to inherit the techniques of the Yellow Flash one day in the future, but even now Naruto knows he still has a long way to go before he can come close to his father’s level of expertise.
He also uses a bo staff with weighted metal ends thanks to Obito’s insistence, training it and using it for defense, offense, and what has to be his favourite thing to do – use it for leverage in order to enhance his other ninjutsu and taijutsu techniques in swift blows.
Sealing Techniques (Fuuinjutsu): Naruto’s father wasn’t the only one he idolized. Whenever his mother was in Konoha, Naruto always wanted to train with her in order to learn how to effectively use sealing techniques and traps created to be used for any situation. As such, Naruto always carries a good supply of trap and storage scrolls along with wire, paper bombs, smoke bombs, kunai, and shuriken.
Summoning Technique (Kuchiyose no Jutsu): Through the aid of his father and his good family friend and mentor by the name of Jiraiya the Toad Sage, Naruto formed a bond with the toads from the tender age of six. However, it wasn’t until he was twelve that he met who he would call his most reliable partner, Gamakichi – the son of the Toad Boss, Gamabunta. Although the two often bicker and argue over silly topics, Naruto knows not one friend who he can count on at literally any time in battle like he can with Gamakichi. By now Gamakichi has grown into a splendid toad that Naruto calls his partner and friend, and their bond at this point is nigh unbreakable.
Sage Arts: Recently, Naruto requested to look into the sage arts of the Toads – something that Jiraiya had made him aware of upon his promotion to Chuunin. However, he wasn’t accepted to learn them until he was older and a bit more matured by the Toads’ standards, and from January until the first couple of weeks in October he had been training relentlessly at Mount Myoboku in order to properly learn how to use Natural Chakra and sage arts. He has not yet mastered the technique, but the fact that he has come so close to it that the toad transformation is hardly noticeable in him anymore. With the use of Shadow clones as well, Naruto can access his sage form up to four times per battle.
Sunshine History: Everything from the day of Naruto’s birth changes within Sunshine’s universe. Instead of rejection and ridicule, Naruto would often experience adoration and admiration solely due to the lineage he inherited from his parents, being the son of Minato Namikaze and Kushina Uzumaki. Although there were times when this was a benefit, it became less so when the little blond began to grow up. By the time he was onto solids, he had decided that one of his favourite games was hide and seek.
Which was hellish on the poor genin teams paid to babysit him, especially if he was still in hiding by the time his parents returned home.
Even with his parents in his life, Naruto’s childhood was still a little unexpectedly lonely. Between his father in the Hokage’s office and his mother travelling back and forth between missions and restoring Uzushio, Naruto would sometimes find himself without many real friends who talked to him or cared about him beyond who his parents were. He loved the people dearly, but more than anything he wanted to be seen as Naruto Uzumaki, the greatest ninja the village had ever known!
When he entered academy, his determination to stand out was apparent from the first class; his declaration when asked about his goal was to stand on his desk, his arms crossed over his chest as he boldly stated that he would become the next Hokage. Of course it was met with some laughter and ridicule, but Naruto seemed un-phased – determined to protect the people around him and to become someone truly one of a kind.
The years at academy were one heck of a learning experience filled with lessons, learning strengths, and of course... Pranking. Naruto inherited a mischievous streak a mile wide as he often invented techniques for the sole purpose of annoying his instructors and classmates, but he knew when to stop – just shy of calling his mom, after the first few times it happened. Through it all he took notice of a couple of his classmates, most notably Sasuke Uchiha – a boy he’d often clash and rival with. Sasuke was incredibly talented, and although Naruto would never admit it he admired the other boy for his talent and effort. It just made him all that much more determined to be acknowledged as equal by the other.
The day came when Naruto, along with his classmates, took the graduation exam. With his studies having gone much more smoothly with dedicated teachers and parents (when they spared the time) to help him along, Naruto came out near the top of the class in practical attributes, only surpassed once again by Sasuke. He was average when it came to test taking however, finding it to not really be his strong suit when it didn’t involve seal work. It was then that he was appointed to a new Hokage, a man he often referred to as uncle – Obito Uchiha. His new teammates were Sasuke Uchiha and Hinata Hyuuga, and although there was a lot of fighting at first the three soon learned to work as a unit under Obito’s tutelage. It was about at this point that Naruto began to pick up speed with his training really quickly, and although he didn’t rank up as quickly as he could have he still improved by leaps and bounds. It was a sting to his pride to be the last to make chuunin, but even so he felt he was on his way to doing the village proud as its new Hokage when he did do so.
In the winter of his fifteenth year, Naruto at last convinced a family friend and mentor, Jiraiya, to talk to the toads of Mount Myoboku in order to learn about sage arts. Under their tutelage Naruto has been learning how to utilize natural chakra with his combat style, continuing to this day to grow in leaps and bounds. After eleven long months (broken up by the occasional home visit) Naruto is returning to the village to stay, finally having completed all of the tutelage from the frogs and perfecting the techniques given to him from his masters.
Prose sample: “Okay, everyone! This is how we’re gonna do this mission!” Naruto grinned at his teammates for the hide and seek challenge Obito had given all of them. It was going to be the last time he’d see everyone before going back to the toads for a final stint, so he wasn’t going to lose no matter what! He’d show his mom and dad and Sasuke and Hinata and Obito how much better he’d gotten, as a leader and as a shinobi! The boy tugged at the comfortably-loose orange and black clothing he wore, a bright grin on his whiskered cheeks as he looked at Shino, Ino, and Kurenai before him. He didn’t know them that well, but surely they’d be able to go head first into this too!
“We’ve gotta go hard and fast against all the teams, catch them off guard before they get all their ideas together! Most of ‘em are probably gonna take their time planning, so if we get their scarves while they’re doing that we’ll be ahead of the game dattebayo! We need to know who’s good with melee combat and who’s better for stayin’ back and keeping everyone else pinned down while the melee guys steal the scarves! Then we can come out on top and take the prize for ourselves! Now, who’s with me dattebayo!?”
With his last words he punched a hand into the air, waiting expectantly for the response from his teammates apparent. True, he had a few plans of his own up his sleeve, and he’d likely meet some opposition to his idea. Part of being a good leader was listening to those ideas after all, so maybe throwing a somewhat-dumb one out there would help get the others’ minds going! Then he could add his own flair on it and they could really kick ass!

Instead of rejection and ridicule, Naruto would often experience adoration and admiration solely due to the lineage he inherited from his parents, being the son of Minato Namikaze and Kushina Uzumaki. Although there were times when this was a benefit, it became less so when the little blond began to grow up. By the time he was onto solids, he had decided that one of his favourite games was hide and seek.
Which was hellish on the poor genin teams paid to babysit him, especially if he was still in hiding by the time his parents returned home.
Even with his parents in his life, Naruto’s childhood was still a little unexpectedly lonely. Between his father in the Hokage’s office and his mother travelling back and forth between missions and restoring Uzushio, Naruto would sometimes find himself without many real friends who talked to him or cared about him beyond who his parents were. He loved the people dearly, but more than anything he wanted to be seen as Naruto Uzumaki, the greatest ninja the village had ever known!
When he entered academy, his determination to stand out was apparent from the first class; his declaration when asked about his goal was to stand on his desk, his arms crossed over his chest as he boldly stated that he would become the next Hokage. Of course it was met with some laughter and ridicule, but Naruto seemed un-phased – determined to protect the people around him and to become someone truly one of a kind.
The years at academy were one heck of a learning experience filled with lessons, learning strengths, and of course... Pranking. Naruto inherited a mischievous streak a mile wide as he often invented techniques for the sole purpose of annoying his instructors and classmates, but he knew when to stop – just shy of calling his mom, after the first few times it happened. Through it all he took notice of a couple of his classmates, most notably Sasuke Uchiha – a boy he’d often clash and rival with. Sasuke was incredibly talented, and although Naruto would never admit it he admired the other boy for his talent and effort. It just made him all that much more determined to be acknowledged as equal by the other.
The day came when Naruto, along with his classmates, took the graduation exam. With his studies having gone much more smoothly with dedicated teachers and parents (when they spared the time) to help him along, Naruto came out near the top of the class in practical attributes, only surpassed once again by Sasuke. He was average when it came to test taking however, finding it to not really be his strong suit when it didn’t involve seal work. It was then that he was appointed to a new Hokage, a man he often referred to as uncle – Obito Uchiha. His new teammates were Sasuke Uchiha and Hinata Hyuuga, and although there was a lot of fighting at first the three soon learned to work as a unit under Obito’s tutelage. It was about at this point that Naruto began to pick up speed with his training really quickly, and although he didn’t rank up as quickly as he could have he still improved by leaps and bounds. It was a sting to his pride to be the last to make chuunin, but even so he felt he was on his way to doing the village proud as its new Hokage when he did do so.
In the winter of his fifteenth year, Naruto at last convinced a family friend and mentor, Jiraiya, to talk to the toads of Mount Myoboku in order to learn about sage arts. Under their tutelage Naruto has been learning how to utilize natural chakra with his combat style, continuing to this day to grow in leaps and bounds. After eleven long months (broken up by the occasional home visit) Naruto is returning to the village to stay, finally having completed all of the tutelage from the frogs and perfecting the techniques given to him from his masters.
Prose sample: “Okay, everyone! This is how we’re gonna do this mission!” Naruto grinned at his teammates for the hide and seek challenge Obito had given all of them. It was going to be the last time he’d see everyone before going back to the toads for a final stint, so he wasn’t going to lose no matter what! He’d show his mom and dad and Sasuke and Hinata and Obito how much better he’d gotten, as a leader and as a shinobi! The boy tugged at the comfortably-loose orange and black clothing he wore, a bright grin on his whiskered cheeks as he looked at Shino, Ino, and Kurenai before him. He didn’t know them that well, but surely they’d be able to go head first into this too!
“We’ve gotta go hard and fast against all the teams, catch them off guard before they get all their ideas together! Most of ‘em are probably gonna take their time planning, so if we get their scarves while they’re doing that we’ll be ahead of the game dattebayo! We need to know who’s good with melee combat and who’s better for stayin’ back and keeping everyone else pinned down while the melee guys steal the scarves! Then we can come out on top and take the prize for ourselves! Now, who’s with me dattebayo!?”
With his last words he punched a hand into the air, waiting expectantly for the response from his teammates apparent. True, he had a few plans of his own up his sleeve, and he’d likely meet some opposition to his idea. Part of being a good leader was listening to those ideas after all, so maybe throwing a somewhat-dumb one out there would help get the others’ minds going! Then he could add his own flair on it and they could really kick ass!

Obito-jichan,
Hey! I’m writing to let you know that I’m coming back to Konoha soon! Sasuke and Hinata-chan had better have trained hard over the past year that I’ve been gone, because I’m coming back stronger than ever! I’ve been keeping up with my bo training as well, so you don’t have to worry about that!
I’m letting mom and dad know I’m coming soon. We’d better all go out for a big dinner at Ichiraku’s when I get back!
