Appearance: Naruto has blue eyes and spiky blonde hair which leaves him looking much like his father, Namikaze Minato, except for the roundness of his face and eyes which he unmistakably got from his mother, Uzumaki Kushina. He has always been reasonably short for his age, only just creeping toward 5’5” after his teenage growth spurt at 15, but he compensates for his lack of height by keeping his weight well proportioned throughout his body; keeping his muscles toned and even.
The most noticeable trait about Naruto’s appearance (despite the fact that he’s an orange eyesore) are the whisker-like scars that stretch down his tanned cheeks – only one of the by-products of sharing his mother’s body with Kurama, the nine-tailed fox, for the duration of her pregnancy. His dress code, aside from being painfully orange, is reasonably typical; an orange and black tracksuit sporting the red swirl crest of the Uzumaki on the back, a long black bandana around his forehead bearing the metal insignia of the leaf, black sandals and a regulation kunai holster around his right thigh. He also has a sheath for his bō staff on his back.
In his downtime Naruto wears more casual clothing, usually consisting of worn shirts with crude motifs on them and lazy sweatpants or shorts. He dresses like a hobo, basically, much to the dismay of all his mentors and all those closest to him. It’s comfy; that’s his reasoning.
Personality: The only thing even more loud and obnoxious than Naruto’s dress-sense is, of course, his personality. He’s always been an enthusiastic and energetic kid, but in his youth it manifested itself in the pranks he pulled and tricks he played in order to get attention, and therefore made him seem a little selfish and crass. Once he’s grown up a little, Naruto fully embraces the sensitive natural empathy he has for people, making friends and doing all he can to support and help them as best he can. He will often put others before himself even if he barely knows the person. He’s always willing to stand up for people, to protect them and to offer them advice or assistance.
Naruto can be quite childish at times, exhibiting habits such as being very picky with his food, being afraid of ghosts, carrying a chubby green frog-wallet which he calls ‘Gama-chan’, talking to inanimate objects and singing silly songs. He doesn’t conform to social standards, even when addressing his elders – often resorting instead to giving people personalised nicknames or addressing them without appropriate honorifics. He can also be quite perverted, as is obvious given his creation of the Sexy Technique.
He’s a tactile learner, meaning that sometimes he can come off quite naive and simple in his slow understanding of principle or situation, often needing an oversimplified analogy in order to grasp explanations. This is his main insecurity, and he gets very frustrated and embarrassed when people point it out.
He works best when faced with competition, as he is a very competitive and determined person. Though he’s (mostly) respectful toward his elders, he also hates to lose so much that whenever he does experience loss he’ll train himself relentlessly in order to improve his weaker areas. Even when the outcome is obviously not in his favour, he never gives up on his aspirations of victory and always pushes himself to the max to achieve those goals; whether it’s a test, a practice spar or even a simple ‘capture the cat’ mission. Most admire this dedication in Naruto and even if there are those who don’t, Naruto doesn’t care – he’ll just work extra hard to prove himself to those people too! In all honesty, Naruto believes that anything can be accomplished with enough effort and dedication, and it’s a motto he lives by to this day.
The village and its people are very close to his heart and he fights to protect them daily. His drive points him to the path both his father and Obito took – the path to becoming Hokage. His eyes are set on the spot of the sixth, and he will get there for sure!

Being born to a jinchuuriki mother (and an Uzumaki, no less) means that Naruto still has an unusually large reserve of chakra and enhanced longevity compared to most humans. This means that Naruto not only has an impressive level of stamina in battle, but that his natural aging process is slowed and his body heals quickly to both illness and injury.
▶ Academy Training & Basic Techniques
Naruto’s is encouraged to strengthen his handle on his chakra from youth given its immense size. Unlike canon where he is alone outside of the academy (and in it) he gets lots of support which enables him to progress quicker. That still, however, doesn’t mean he was good at it off the bat. He still struggled, still often became the class clown for his failed attempts—but that struggle birthed perseverance and relentless determination in him, which fuelled his iron-clad will to succeed.
▶ Summoning Technique
At the age of six Naruto was introduced to the toads of Mount Myoboku, but it wasn’t until he was twelve that he met Gamakichi, a son of the Toad Boss, Gamabunta. Although the two bickered and argued over silly topics, their friendship blossomed and now Gamakichi has grown into a splendid toad; one that Naruto calls his partner and friend, and their bond at this point is nigh unbreakable.

In Sunshine, thanks to the help of his family and mentors, Naruto found his chakra affinity much earlier than canon, and was therefore able to learn various wind techniques earlier as a result.
▶ Rasengan & Rasenshuriken
The only downside to the Rasenshuriken is the cellular damage threatens the user with when wielded. To combat this, Naruto used Sage Mode and learnt how to throw the shuriken, giving this technique a varied range whilst not detracting from its force. He also learnt how to make the Rasenshuriken expand once thrown, compensating for imprecise aim or moving targets by widening its area of impact.
With support from Jiraiya and his father, Naruto learned this technique shortly after becoming genin. It took him four weeks to learn in its entirety, thanks to his vicious determination and punishing stamina. He still, however, needs additional shadow clones to produce the chakra and mould it in order to pull off the moves.

When he was still quite young Naruto set out to find a jutsu to impress his academy classmates after growing frustrated with constantly failing so miserably. One day he broke into his father’s office to surprise him, only to find him not there, and in his place was a scroll that had been left momentarily unguarded. Naruto stole it, learnt the jutsu and his arsenal was never the same again.

Naruto’s weapons skill is excellent thanks to his training with his various mentors. He also uses a bō staff with weighted metal ends thanks to Obito’s insistence, using it in defence, offense and combining it with his ninjutsu and taijutsu techniques to enhance his blows.

Whenever his mother visited Konoha, Naruto would always ask to train with her and ask her to teach him sealing techniques and traps.
▶ Senjutsu/Sage Mode
Recently, Naruto requested to look into the Sage Arts of the Toads – something that Jiraiya had made him aware of upon his promotion to Chuunin. However, he wasn’t accepted to learn them until he was older and a bit more matured by the Toads’ standards, and from January until the first couple of weeks in October (AGS1) he had been training relentlessly at Mount Myoboku in order to properly learn how to use Natural Chakra and Sage Arts. With the use of Shadow clones as well, Naruto can access his sage form around five times per battle.
With reaching full Sage Mode, Naruto's sensory abilities were also increased. Now he's a lot more alert to his surroundings in general, and is also able to track and trace chakra.
Sunshine History: The most prolific change in Naruto’s character and therefore history in this AU is the absence of Kurama dwelling inside of him and the fact that his parents are still alive. This means that instead of facing looks of fear and hatred from his peers, Naruto experienced acceptance and often admiration. When he was young he saw this as a benefit as it meant that everyone knew who he was... but as he started to get older, he realised that they only knew who he was because of his lineage; the son of the Hokage and an Uzumaki who also happened to be the Leaf’s jinchuuriki. He found that, more often than not, people seemed to know who he was without actually knowing his name.
His youth was a surprisingly lonely time for Naruto; between his father in the Hokage’s office and his mother on missions and eventually tending to responsibilities restoring Uzushio, Naruto would sometimes find himself without many people who talked to him or cared about him beyond who his parents were. To combat this loneliness, Kushina would often encourage Naruto to attend play-dates with the other children from the clans around the village and also entrusted Minato’s students into babysitting Naruto. Naruto quickly developed an excellent relationship with Uchiha Obito due to the man visiting whenever he had a spare minute, and Naruto eventually soaked up many personality traits from him as he began to look up to Obito as something of an older brother.
Naruto was never sour or ungrateful about the way most people treated him like nothing more than the Hokage’s son, but more than anything he wanted to be seen as Uzumaki Naruto, for the promising ninja he was and would eventually grow into, and as the future sixth Hokage (because Obito would definitely be the fifth)!!
Because of this, Naruto took to making sure that his peers knew his name. He did this by announcing himself with a shout at any and all opportunities, declaring his will to be the sixth Hokage, and acting up both in classes and out of them in order to become memorable and recognisable beyond his parentage. People expected him to be a model student due to his father being the Hokage, and so he did the complete opposite. He was sometimes left with genin teams of babysitters, and would play ruthless rounds of hide and seek with them, which often ended with him still being in hiding by the time his parents got home; he would play pranks on his classmates and cause various catastrophes around the village for both shinobi and civilian alike. His years at the academy were full of the typical toils of education, but his mischievous streak seemed to blossom as most of the techniques he invented and practiced were solely for the purpose of annoying and tricking his tutors and classmates.
Unfortunately this behaviour meant that a few of his year group found him annoying and/or obnoxious, and were only irritated further by his apparent lack of care for their opinion. However, there was one student’s opinion he craved. He’d met Uchiha Sasuke at play-dates in his youth and hadn’t liked him much, and in the academy they only clashed more. Sasuke was incredibly talented, and although Naruto would never admit it, he admired the other boy for his talent an effort. He soon forcefully instigated a rivalry between them, making himself even more determined to improve in order to meet Sasuke head on and be acknowledged as an equal by him. Naruto’s reign of terror in the academy had to stop eventually and it was all thanks to Naruto’s teacher, Umino Iruka, who took Naruto aside one day for a talk, discussed his reasoning and gave him a heart to heart that managed to successfully calm his antics down a little.
Thanks to his dedicated teachers and parents (when they spared the time) to help him along, Naruto came out successful in his graduation to Genin. He was average in the test portion, however, finding it not really his strong suit when it didn’t involve seal work. He was then placed onto a team under none other than Uchiha Obito along with Hyuuga Hinata, and Uchiha Sasuke. There was a lot of fighting between their unit at first, but they soon learned to get along and work as a team under Obito’s guidance. Naruto started to pick up speed with his training now that he was getting focused attention, and although he didn’t rank up as quickly as he could, he still improved by leaps and bounds. It was a sting to his pride to be the last to make Chuunin (and three years after Sasuke) but it only proved as further incentive for him to improve.
In the late winter of his fifteenth year, Naruto at last convinced a family friend and mentor, Jiraiya the Toad Sage to talk to the toads of mount Myoboku and encourage them to teach him the sage arts. Under their tutelage Naruto has been learning how to utilize natural chakra with his combat style. After eleven long months that took up most of his sixteenth year and broke only for the occasional home visit, Naruto returned to the village having finally completed all of the training necessary to harness the sage arts, and has been training and practicing ever since. Currently, he’s aspiring for a jounin promotion in order to get on a level playing field with Sasuke once more, as his team mate received that promotion while he was absent from the village.
Naruto has also been spending a lot of time visiting other villages on various diplomacy C and B ranks thanks to his sensei, and has been spending a lot of time with the Maniwa travellers dotted around the map.

The only downside to the Rasenshuriken is the cellular damage threatens the user with when wielded. To combat this, Naruto used Sage Mode and learnt how to throw the shuriken, giving this technique a varied range whilst not detracting from its force. He also learnt how to make the Rasenshuriken expand once thrown, compensating for imprecise aim or moving targets by widening its area of impact.
With support from Jiraiya and his father, Naruto learned this technique shortly after becoming genin. It took him four weeks to learn in its entirety, thanks to his vicious determination and punishing stamina. He still, however, needs additional shadow clones to produce the chakra and mould it in order to pull off the moves.

When he was still quite young Naruto set out to find a jutsu to impress his academy classmates after growing frustrated with constantly failing so miserably. One day he broke into his father’s office to surprise him, only to find him not there, and in his place was a scroll that had been left momentarily unguarded. Naruto stole it, learnt the jutsu and his arsenal was never the same again.

Naruto’s weapons skill is excellent thanks to his training with his various mentors. He also uses a bō staff with weighted metal ends thanks to Obito’s insistence, using it in defence, offense and combining it with his ninjutsu and taijutsu techniques to enhance his blows.

Whenever his mother visited Konoha, Naruto would always ask to train with her and ask her to teach him sealing techniques and traps.
▶ Senjutsu/Sage Mode
Recently, Naruto requested to look into the Sage Arts of the Toads – something that Jiraiya had made him aware of upon his promotion to Chuunin. However, he wasn’t accepted to learn them until he was older and a bit more matured by the Toads’ standards, and from January until the first couple of weeks in October (AGS1) he had been training relentlessly at Mount Myoboku in order to properly learn how to use Natural Chakra and Sage Arts. With the use of Shadow clones as well, Naruto can access his sage form around five times per battle.
With reaching full Sage Mode, Naruto's sensory abilities were also increased. Now he's a lot more alert to his surroundings in general, and is also able to track and trace chakra.
His youth was a surprisingly lonely time for Naruto; between his father in the Hokage’s office and his mother on missions and eventually tending to responsibilities restoring Uzushio, Naruto would sometimes find himself without many people who talked to him or cared about him beyond who his parents were. To combat this loneliness, Kushina would often encourage Naruto to attend play-dates with the other children from the clans around the village and also entrusted Minato’s students into babysitting Naruto. Naruto quickly developed an excellent relationship with Uchiha Obito due to the man visiting whenever he had a spare minute, and Naruto eventually soaked up many personality traits from him as he began to look up to Obito as something of an older brother.
Naruto was never sour or ungrateful about the way most people treated him like nothing more than the Hokage’s son, but more than anything he wanted to be seen as Uzumaki Naruto, for the promising ninja he was and would eventually grow into, and as the future sixth Hokage (because Obito would definitely be the fifth)!!
Because of this, Naruto took to making sure that his peers knew his name. He did this by announcing himself with a shout at any and all opportunities, declaring his will to be the sixth Hokage, and acting up both in classes and out of them in order to become memorable and recognisable beyond his parentage. People expected him to be a model student due to his father being the Hokage, and so he did the complete opposite. He was sometimes left with genin teams of babysitters, and would play ruthless rounds of hide and seek with them, which often ended with him still being in hiding by the time his parents got home; he would play pranks on his classmates and cause various catastrophes around the village for both shinobi and civilian alike. His years at the academy were full of the typical toils of education, but his mischievous streak seemed to blossom as most of the techniques he invented and practiced were solely for the purpose of annoying and tricking his tutors and classmates.
Unfortunately this behaviour meant that a few of his year group found him annoying and/or obnoxious, and were only irritated further by his apparent lack of care for their opinion. However, there was one student’s opinion he craved. He’d met Uchiha Sasuke at play-dates in his youth and hadn’t liked him much, and in the academy they only clashed more. Sasuke was incredibly talented, and although Naruto would never admit it, he admired the other boy for his talent an effort. He soon forcefully instigated a rivalry between them, making himself even more determined to improve in order to meet Sasuke head on and be acknowledged as an equal by him. Naruto’s reign of terror in the academy had to stop eventually and it was all thanks to Naruto’s teacher, Umino Iruka, who took Naruto aside one day for a talk, discussed his reasoning and gave him a heart to heart that managed to successfully calm his antics down a little.
Thanks to his dedicated teachers and parents (when they spared the time) to help him along, Naruto came out successful in his graduation to Genin. He was average in the test portion, however, finding it not really his strong suit when it didn’t involve seal work. He was then placed onto a team under none other than Uchiha Obito along with Hyuuga Hinata, and Uchiha Sasuke. There was a lot of fighting between their unit at first, but they soon learned to get along and work as a team under Obito’s guidance. Naruto started to pick up speed with his training now that he was getting focused attention, and although he didn’t rank up as quickly as he could, he still improved by leaps and bounds. It was a sting to his pride to be the last to make Chuunin (and three years after Sasuke) but it only proved as further incentive for him to improve.
In the late winter of his fifteenth year, Naruto at last convinced a family friend and mentor, Jiraiya the Toad Sage to talk to the toads of mount Myoboku and encourage them to teach him the sage arts. Under their tutelage Naruto has been learning how to utilize natural chakra with his combat style. After eleven long months that took up most of his sixteenth year and broke only for the occasional home visit, Naruto returned to the village having finally completed all of the training necessary to harness the sage arts, and has been training and practicing ever since. Currently, he’s aspiring for a jounin promotion in order to get on a level playing field with Sasuke once more, as his team mate received that promotion while he was absent from the village.
Naruto has also been spending a lot of time visiting other villages on various diplomacy C and B ranks thanks to his sensei, and has been spending a lot of time with the Maniwa travellers dotted around the map.
